Our expert clinic offers leading eyelid surgery in Birmingham, delivered by the UK’s leading eyelid reduction surgeons at our principal Birmingham clinic.
As eyelids skin serves as the thinnest layer of skin on the human body, they’re often the first part of the face to display signs of ageing. Excess skin on the upper eyelids can result in the eyes looking droopy, while excess skin on the lower eyelids can result in a puffy or weary appearance.
Eyelid surgery - medically known as Blepharoplasty - removes excess skin, muscle and fat from the eyelids, resulting in the eyes looking more youthful and energetic. Removal of excess upper eyelid skin can also improve your vision along with the aesthetic appearance of your eyelids.
At UKSKIN, we’re committed to delivering affordable and efficient eyelid surgery in Birmingham, allowing you to offset the early signs of ageing and restore the youthful appearance of your eyes. Upper eyelid surgery starts from £2,150, with lower eyelid surgery starting from £2,350.
Your eyelid surgery will be preceded by a free, no-obligation consultation to scope the requirements of the procedure and provide a tailored range of options for your surgery.
Expert Eyelid Surgery Specialists in Birmingham
Our leading cosmetic surgeons hold over 50 years of combined experience in eyelid surgery, having delivered hundreds of eyelid surgeries at our Birmingham clinic.
Your no-obligation consultation will be conducted by the same surgeon who will deliver your procedure, ensuring they have first-hand knowledge of your desired results from the surgery. During your preliminary consultation, a thorough assessment of your eyelids will be undertaken, followed by a detailed conversation about your desired results from the surgery.
The surgeon will then talk you through the options available to you, before providing a bespoke quote tailored to the specific requirements of your surgery.
Eyelid Surgery Before and After Results
Our Eyelid Surgery Process
The Procedure
Our upper eyelid surgeries are carried out under local anaesthetic, while general anaesthetic is used for surgeries that include the lower eyelids.
For upper eyelid surgery, an incision is made along the fold of each eyelid in order to remove excess fat, skin or muscle. The incision is then closed.
For lower eyelid surgery, an incision is made directly below the eyelashes along the crease of the eyelid. Excess fat, skin or muscle is then either removed or redistributed before the incision is closed.
If your surgery involves both the upper and lower eyelids, the surgeon will work on your upper eyelids first before moving on to the lower eyelids.
Recovery & Aftercare
Following your surgery, you will be monitored for compilations before being provided with a comprehensive aftercare pack and discharged to recover at home on the same day. However, you will need to be accompanied by either a friend or a family member.
You will return to the clinic three days after the surgery to change the dressings, before returning again on day six to remove the stitches. The surgeon who carried out your surgery will then execute a final check-up two months after your surgery.
If you experience any complications following your surgery, our team of experts are here to help. You can contact the surgery via telephone, email or WhatsApp to speak with a member of staff.

Joanne's Eyelid Surgery Experience
Your treatment journey
The procedure can be performed under local anaesthetic and takes approximately 90 minutes to complete, including recovery. The skin will be incised and the excess trimmed off. The wound will be closed with sutures and a dressing will be applied on.
Following the procedure it is common to experience bruising, swelling and temporary numbness. As with all surgical procedures, there is a risk of discomfort, bleeding, infection, wound healing problems and scarring.
Once the procedure is complete, you can go home on the same day, however, you will need to be accompanied by a friend or member of your family. You will be given painkillers and occasionally a five day course of antibiotics to take home. You will be up and mobile on day one post-op, however, you will need to avoid any heavy lifting, exercise, swimming, driving and travel for one week. This gives plenty of time for the swelling to go down. Residual swelling can take up to ten weeks to settle down completely.
We will see you on day 3 post-op to change the dressings and assess the wounds, then see you again on day 6 to remove the sutures. Finally the surgeon will see you two months later for a final check-up.
A visible improvement from the eyelid surgery can appear usually just few weeks after surgery. Scars eventually fade away and the result should be long-lasting.
You will be reviewed and closely looked after at UKSKIN until the wounds are completely healed. If you experience any problems or have any queries following your surgery, we are always here to help. Please use our WhatsApp number provided to get in contact with one of our expert staff members.
