The mole removal process at UKSKIN is quick, easy, and painless. This procedure is usually performed under local anaesthetic and takes under an hour to complete. With our walk-in-walk-out service, many patients undergo an expert mole check and mole removal on the same day.
During your consultation, your surgeon will assess your mole and advise you on the best method of removal. The procedure will be explained to you in detail to ensure that you are completely happy before proceeding with the removal.
The three types of mole removal we perform are the Mole Curettage, Mole Shave and Full Mole Excision:
- Mole Curettage: The surgeon will scrape the mole off with a curette - a small spoon-like device with sharp edges.
- Mole Shave: The surgeon will shave the mole off with a sharp razor, while also making use of an electrode to ensure minimal scarring.
- Full Mole Excision: The mole - along with a small margin of skin - will be removed using surgical tools.
