What is Intra-Dermal Nevus (IDN)?

IDN are very common. They are Benign and harmless skin lesions that could be acquired at any time in life, however they tend to appear during puberty most of the time. They often appear around the nose. They are dome shaped, fleshy coloured or brown and sometimes can be hairy. Patients usually seek help to remove them either because they can cause irritation, can catch when shaving or for cosmetic reasons.

Removal of IDN is done by Surgical Shave Excision & Cauterisation. The procedure will be done under local anaesthetic and would last approximately 20 minutes. It will leave a small scar that usually fades away over the time.
