Like any other surgical procedure, there is a small risk of discomfort, bleeding, infection, wound healing problems and scaring.

Patients can go back to their normal daily activities 1 week after surgery but should avoid strenuous exercise for 6 weeks. It will be necessary to wear a support garment for the first 4 weeks. You will be reviewed and looked after until the wound is completely healed. Scars should fade and flatten anywhere from three months to one year after surgery. The results shall be long-lasting, provided that you maintain a stable weight and general fitness.
